varies

Note 1 (Provisional Points): If a driver notifies STPC officials in advance via the STPC forums topic for the race, then he receives provisional points for that race equal to the finishing position points of the position one behind the last actual race finisher.  For example, if the last place finisher in a race received 80 points for finishing 20th, then each driver receiving provisional points for absence would receive 79 (i.e., 21st place).

We all have real-life commitments and responsibilities that dwarf the importance of our on-line sim-racing hobby.  Provisional points gives drivers flexibility to miss a few events without being completely washed out of the championship points race.

Note 2 (Appearance Points): 50 appearance points are earned if your car is submitted before the first race in the class (i.e., before Event 1 for late models and before Event 7 for modifieds).  If you submit the car later, then you receive pro-rated points.  For example, if you submitted a late model car with proper contigs (go here for contigs) with two of six races past, you would receive 34 points ( 4/6 x 50 = 33-1/3 rounded up).

Note 3 (Indicents): Each and every caution-causing incident in STPC will be reviewed by STPC officials after the race.  Even though fault can always be placed, many incidents resulting from hard, clean racing will be deemed "racing deals" and not penalized.  Official rulings are logged on the Incident Ledger.

Penalties will be assessed when a driver blatantly or repeatedly causes incidents from poor judgment, over-aggressive driving, ignoring recommendations in the rules or ignoring the spirit of racing savvy

STPC League-Team Scoring

For each STPC race, each participating league will receive team points equal to the combined finishing position score (see Note 1) of the top two finishing drivers from that league.  At the end of the STPC season, the league with the most team points will be declared the STPC champion team.

Note 1: the score received is only for finishing position points.  Other points, such as appearance awards and bonus points, are not counted for league scoring.  (Penalty deductions will be judged and applied on a per occurrence basis.)
