Warning: The #51 flamed the
#1 using language which is not profane. STPC rules clearly state that flaming will not
be tolerated and, in my opinion, flaming is as
much intent as it is content. Simply because
language is not profane does not mean it is not
flaming. I want to make it clear that any
language used to flame, whether profane or not,
is flaming. This is a warning that from
now forward all flaming that is brought to my
attention will be penalized.
Note that someone must point out the flaming
incident to me after the race. I will
not be searching chat logs for such
occurrences.

The #1 gets slightly loose in
T3 causing him to slow. The #388 and #66
are racing side-by-side immediately behind the
one. With no place to go, the #388 tries
to dive low, but contacts the #1 to the inside
causing the #1 to spin. |

|

134 |
The #388 goes underneath the
#92 on T3 entry and there is contact mid-turn
causing the #92 to spin and slide up to the
outside wall. However, this is a case
where the #388 has clearly established the
position before turn entry. |
Racing Deal
#92 at fault (if someone has
established inside, need to give room) |
none |
|

143 |
The #388 comes off T2 in the
middle of a three-wide situation, the #20 to the
inside and the #66 to the outside. There
is contact between the #388 and the #20 causing
the #20 to hit the inside wall. |
Racing Deal
No fault |
none |
|
Warning:
While no specific incident involving the #388 is
worthy of penalization, in my opinion, the shear
number of times his number is called in the
above review brings into question his judgment
for taking risks and
racing savvy. I will assume
that this race was just a case of a bad day.
But if a pattern emerges where the #388 is
involved in a large number of incidents in the
future, I will be more quick to penalize. |

Entering T1 the #1 (four laps
off lead) dives inside the #51 establishing the
inside and #51 gives plenty of room. But,
the #1 gets a touch loose and slides up slowing
and the #13 goes to his inside on T2.
Trying to collect the car (#1) off T3 there is
slight contact between the #1 and the #13
causing the #1 to slide up into the outside wall
at the start of the backstretch. This
causes the #1 to ricochete off the wall and take
out the #13. |
#1 at
fault. At four laps down, the #1 would
be getting a blue flag in virtually any race
anywhere (See Note 1). |
-25 points |
|
Note 1: In post
race discussion, the #1 makes it clear he is
driving hard to make up laps because there is no
other way to do so except to race for them (no
double-file restarts and no lucky dog).
However, in my opinion, racing for laps back at
four down with 13 to go is over-aggressive and
must be penalized. It is clear, and I
understand his position, that the #1 is
frustrated with the rules and situation.
However, late lap aggression is not the time or
place to express that frustration.
Instead, discussion of possible rules changes
should take place in the forums. |
